![]() McDonald's Advertisement in Sean Walsh ParkIn the
Summer of 2017 Sean Walsh Park was selected by fast
food giant McDonald's as the location to shoot
one of it's Monopoly-themed TV advertisements. You

Presumably one of the reasons that SWP was chosen was because it is now relatively free of obvious rubbish and litter. Just 18 months ago, before the establishment of the Litter Mugs, this may not have been the case. It is somewhat ironic that a significant amount of the rubbish that has been picked in the Park has been discarded by customers of McDonald's. There are two McDonald's restaurants in close proximity to SWP. We regularly pick up burger cartons, fries wrappers, paper bags, drinks cartons, and straws. Drinks straws, in particular, can pose serious hazards for the Park's wildlife. We have contacted McDonald's Corporate Responsibility division to request a donation to help purchase equipment for the Litter Mug volunteers. We are hopeful that McDonald's will respond favourably and we'll report as soon as possible on the outcome. Mr. Monopoly Cleans Up in Sean Walsh ParkSean Walsh Memorial park is a one-of-a-kind green spot in Tallaght. There is a children's playground located between two ponds that comprises two separated areas. The junior section is compact whereas the senior area is spacious and suitable for older children. Beside the playground, there is a sensory garden that hosts a Tree of Hope. ![]() Unfortunately some parts of this gorgeous park are plagued by large amounts of rubbish and litter. Our group of hard-working Litter Mugs meet once per month to conduct an extensive clean up of the walking areas, green spaces, and the water ways. We are also looking for new volunteers to give a helping hand. If you wish to volunteer just email us or follow this link to get details of the next Sean Walsh Park clean-up.
