![]() Tallaght Litter Mugs August 2017 Clean-up in SWPOur clean up event in August 2017 did not attract the high numbers of volunteers as the July clean up did, but that was to be expected during the peak holiday time. Nevertheless it was great to welcome our youngest ever Litter Mug volunteers, Lois and Milo as well as a visitor from London, Emily. This month we concentrated a lot of our efforts in one of the wooded areas of Sean Walsh Park. Because of the secluded nature of this part of the park it attracts a lot of young drinkers and other forms of anti-social activities. The rubbish haul included a huge number of drinks cans and bottles as usual, and four shopping trolleys. We also collected soiled baby nappies, assorted items of clothing, condom wrappers and a lot more. Regrettably we also recorded a first for the Litter Mugs, a used syringe. Thanks to Lidl we were able to provide bottled water and snack bars for our intrepid volunteers to support their fantastic cleaning efforts.
